The makers of edgarandellen.com are committed to providing a fun, safe and secure Web site for children and their guardians. We are dedicated to safeguarding all the personal information we collect online using state-of-the-art technology and strict management procedures.
And we don't stop there. We are also committed to helping parents and children learn how to protect their safety and privacy while exploring other sites on the Internet.
Under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, no Web site operator can require, as a condition of participation in an activity, that a child under the age of 13 disclose more information than is reasonably necessary for participation in that activity.
In strict compliance with this regulation, we never ask for more information than we need for a particular activity. And we take additional steps to prevent children from disclosing personal information on our site by screening and monitoring all of our interactive areas.
edgarandellen.com only collects personal information from children in the following situations:
* The child submits an online contest entry. In this case, the e-mail address is used only to contact the child once with a notice of the winners unless the child has opted, during the contest entry submission process, to subscribe to the e-mail newsletter.
* The child sends us an e-mail message with a one-time request for help or information. In these cases, we'll respond to the e-mail message once and then delete the e-mail address and any other personal information that came with it. If there's a reason to e-mail the child more than once (for example, if one of our editors is helping the child develop an article for the site), we will make sure we have parental consent first.
* The child subscribes to an e-mail newsletter. In this case, we will use the e-mail addresses solely for the purpose of sending out the newsletter. In addition, we will send the parent a notice that the child has signed up for the newsletter, and the parent will be able to cancel the subscription if he or she so chooses.
Note: When a child registers to become a member of the edgarandellen.com online community, we require only non-personal information such as gender, age, and country. We also require the parent's e-mail address. The child's e-mail address is required only if the child wishes to receive the online newsletter, in which case the parent receives notification and the option to cancel the child's newsletter subscription and have the child's information deleted from our records. Membership is not required to access most areas of edgarandellen.com.
Children who become members of edgarandellen.com may have opportunities to provide information about themselves, such as hobbies and favorite movies, which is never personally identifiable or otherwise unsafe.
As we continue to offer our visitors and members new types of content and services, we may modify our practices. However, all information we collect will be treated in accordance to the privacy policy in effect at the time the information is collected. We will not change our use of the information in any material way without first getting explicit permission of the members' parents or guardians.

We mean business when it comes to privacy. We don't collect too much info about you, and what we DO know, we don't share with anyone. Plus, we plan to teach you how to look out for your own privacy when you're not at edgarandellen.com.
There are laws that tell Web sites not to collect too much info about kids. Why? Because everything from unwanted junk e-mail to unwanted snoops and creeps could start bugging you if we Ñ and you Ñ aren't careful about personal info online.
Here's one way we're looking out for your privacy: Adults monitor all our interactive areas to make sure some goof isn't giving out his home address online. And when we collect info about you, it's only the bare minimum to make sure the right person has access to your account.
The only personal info we collect about you is your e-mail address, and that's so we can keep you updated on Edgar & Ellen news. That gives you the ultimate privacy protection online.
If, for some reason, our privacy policy changes in any significant way, we'll let you know first. Your parents will have the opportunity to say, "Sure, those changes are fine with me," or "No way, pal. Either leave our info under the old policy or delete it!" If we don't get permission to move your data to the new policy, we'll leave it under the old one.

Does edgarandellen.com Share User Information with Third Parties?
|
edgarandellen.com never sells, rents, or otherwise shares our users' (Members, Account Holders and Visitors) personal information with third parties. We may use agents or contractors on occasion to provide services to our users, such as sending prizes to contest winners. In these cases, we require the agent or contractor to keep the information confidential, to use it only for the specific services they are performing and to delete the information after fulfilling those services.
We may use non-personally identifiable information that we collect to improve the design and content of our site, to personalize our visitors' experience on edgarandellen.com, and to offer products, programs, and services. We may also aggregate this information to analyze site usage, as well as to offer products, programs, and services.
We will disclose information we maintain as required by law, for example, in response to a court order or subpoena. We also may disclose such information in response to a specific law enforcement agency's request or to protect the safety of our users.
|
We won't share your info or your parents' info with anybody you don't give the OK to. For example, if you win a big contest, we may let an outside company ship the prize to you, but first they'll have to sign a contract promising to rip up your info after they ship you the goods.
Any other info we collect about your use of the site won't identify you personally. We just need to be able to look at traffic numbers in general to get an idea of what's popular and what's not.
OK, we will share info about our members if Officer Friendly comes in and makes us, or if law enforcement shows us it would help the safety of our members in general to play along.

Collection of Information by Third-Party Sites and Sponsors
|
|
Our site may contain links to other sites, including those of sponsors and advertisers, whose information practices may be different from ours. While we have strict guidelines governing our partnerships, visitors should consult the privacy notices on these third-party sites, since these sites are not covered by our privacy policy and may follow different procedures.
|
If you click on one of our banner ads or sponsor ads, you'll probably be taken to an outside site where the privacy rules may be different. We try to do business with companies who share our philosophy, but learn to look out for yourself: Check each site's safety and privacy statements on your own.

Security
|
|
We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard the information we collect online. These procedures prevent unauthorized access to the information and ensure that the data is secure and used only in accordance to the edgarandellen.com privacy policies.
We also do everything in our power to protect user information off-line. All of our users' information is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, a customer service representative) are granted access to user information. Our employees must protect their computers with password-protected screen-savers when they leave their desks. When they return, they must re-enter their passwords to re-gain access to user information. ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Every quarter, as well as any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy and what they can do to ensure our customers' information is protected. Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment.
If you have any questions about the security at our Web site, you can send an email to info@starfarmproductions.com.

Our security technology is totally boss. If you or your parents are worried about snoops seeing stuff about you, you can relax. We have all the security best practices in place.
